ALI SKIBA
After 10 years of working in high stress, tech corporate environments, I hit rock bottom. I was waking up with debilitating anxiety, brain fog, struggling with depression, adult acne and operating in a perpetual state of fight or flight. I didnβt want to live anymore.
In 2018 I quit my job as an engineering program manager, sold all my belongings and left San Francisco on a one-way ticket to Central America to teach yoga on a boat in the Caribbean. Lost and confused, I travelled 16 countries and 5 continents in search of meaning, healing and answers. It was an existential inquisition that led me to explore and study a wide variety of healing modalities. From meditation to reiki, to sound healing, to Ayahuasca in Peru, I dabbled in almost every alternative healing modality you can think of⦠until one day, I discovered breathwork.
Through breathwork, I was able to restore my battered nervous system, relieve my anxiety and find my voice. I learned the role of our vagus nerve in supporting our nervous system and every function in our body. I learned how to use my own voice to calm my nervous system and in the process, found a quality of my voice I didnβt know I had. I began to study sound healing using Himalayan singing bowls, as well as a wide range of other instruments.
After a very long journey I found light through my dark night of the soul. Through my own struggles with anxiety and depression, I have learned how to raise my vibration and have made it my lifeβs mission to help others raise theirs.
Using breathwork, sound healing and voice activation, I now facilitate ceremonies for groups and individuals to reconnect with their true nature - to awaken their voices, heal trauma and remind them of their innate, self-healing abilities.
Gone are the days of the gurus and healers - you are your own healer and have the capacity to transform your life. My hope is to remind the world of this fact. Not only through the work that I do, but through sharing my story and reminding people they are not alone.
βMy vibrational toolkit includes vocals, crystal & Himalayan singing bowls, Native American Flute, chimes, medicine drum, & acoustic guitar. In all healing sessions, the primary instrument is my voice.β
Over the years of working with clients, I have developed a unique and transformative approach to breathwork therapy. My techniques combine conscious breathing patterns, visualisation, mindfulness and sound healing to facilitate deep relaxation and release emotional tension. Each session is unique crafted and designed to help individuals reestablish healthy breathing patterns, alleviate insomnia, relieve depression and manage anxiety effectively.
Now based in Sydney, I use my voice and entourage of instruments to channel music medicine, facilitate workshops, corporate events, retreats and mentorship programs.
